Chlorophyll- the Good for You Green Stuff

Have you ever heard of chlorophyll? Have you ever tried it in a beverage or food?

The first time I purposely tried chlorophyll was at my favorite cryo therapy spa. As I stood there shivering after finishing my – 285 degrees 3 minute session, they offered me a glass of this minty smelling green water. It was from a mint kissed liquid chlorophyll concentrate you add to water.

I tasted the subtle freshness that day and was hooked. Since then I am excited to say I found a new taste to add to my hydration routine with some extra powerful health benefits!

So what is chlorophyll

and why would you want to use it?

Chlorophyll is the green compound in plants that gives them their color, helps them create energy, process nutrients, fight disease and even make oxygen for us to breath.

And chlorophyll can do these same things and more in our human bodies. Scientific research has even shown it can:

  • Support healthy blood cells
  • Reduce odors
  • Help wound healing
  • Fight cancer promoters
  • Boost the immune system
  • Improve gut health
  • Increase energy

Here are 3 of my favorite reasons to enjoy chlorophyll every day:

Reason 1: Digestion

Chlorophyll aids good digestion by supporting your gut bacteria to stay healthy and strong, fight against the wrong little buggers and keep your intestinal lining healthy and working effectively.

Reason 2: Circulation

Healthy blood cells and a good circulation system are essential for life. Chlorophyll helps red blood cells, has potent antioxidants, supports the liver and the whole system so you function at your best.

Reason 3: Cancer fighter

Free radicals and other compounds in the body promote cell mutations and cancer growth. The molecules in this powerful green substance can fight against these damaging compounds throughout our body. So taking it in daily is a big benefit for all of your body.

With all these possible benefits you might be ready to grab some chlorophyll today.

There are several different ways you can enjoy it. Try eating green plants such as spinach, parsley, wheat grass and more.

Here is a fun recipe from The Spruce Eats to make your own power packed green juice chock full of chlorophyll and other nutrients.

But don’t worry, if eating or juicing greens isn’t your jam you can also drink chlorophyll liquid in water for a quick and tasty treat while enjoying it’s health benefits.

I personally like the taste and convenience of Nature’s Sunshine Liquid Chlorophyll ES
